Pickleball and sand volleyball courts at Paradise Village resort near Sunshine Suites

Pickleball, Sand Volleyball and the Clubhouse

Home  /  Paradise Village › Activities

The water park gets the attention, but Paradise Village has more than pools. A few steps from Sunshine Suites you have pickleball and sand volleyball courts and a resort clubhouse, so a big group can fill an afternoon without leaving the neighborhood. In our experience, the courts get busiest right after the pool quiets down in the evening. Here is what is on site and how our guests actually use it.

The short version

  • Pickleball: courts on site, popular with all ages
  • Sand volleyball: court a short walk from the home
  • Clubhouse: indoor gathering space
  • Water: lazy river and heated pools, ~100 steps
  • Best part: no driving to fill an afternoon

What activities are at Paradise Village?

Four things sit within a short walk of the house: pickleball courts, a sand volleyball court, the resort clubhouse, and the lazy river and heated pools. Pickleball is the one our groups end up playing most, because beginners pick it up in a few minutes and the courts are right there, no driving required. The sand volleyball court, a short walk away, tends to turn into a nightly game for groups with teenagers. The clubhouse is indoor gathering space, useful for shade in the middle of a hot day or a spot for the group to regroup. And the water, the lazy river and pools at Kid’s Cove and Paradise Falls, is about a hundred steps from the door, with the hot tubs and upper pool heated year round and the lazy river running mid-February through Thanksgiving. The quiet advantage is that a big group can fill an entire afternoon without anyone getting in a car. Here is what each is good for.

Can you play pickleball at the resort?

Yes. Paradise Village has pickleball on site, and it is the activity our groups end up playing most, since beginners pick up the basic rules in a few minutes. Bring or borrow paddles and you have a built-in activity steps from the door.

Is there a sand volleyball court?

There is, a short walk from the home. We have watched it turn into a nightly grudge match for groups with teenagers, and it pairs well with a pool afternoon. Like the rest of the resort amenities, it is close enough that nobody needs to get in a car.

What is the clubhouse used for?

The clubhouse is an indoor gathering space, which is handy when you want shade in the middle of a hot day or a place for the group to regroup. Combined with the home’s own living and dining space, it gives a big group room to spread out.

How close is all of this to the home?

Very close. The lazy river and pools are about a hundred steps away, and the courts and clubhouse are a short walk. That walkability is the quiet advantage of the location. See the full resort rundown on the Paradise Village guide and the water on the Kid’s Cove page.
